Multiple sessions
We like to give both ourselves and our clients the space to slow down and let a tattoo unfold naturally, almost like a drawing developing on skin. Rather than rushing a project, we often choose to break it into multiple sessions so the idea has time to evolve.
Working this way allows us to make thoughtful adjustments as we go and respond to what feels right. During this time we are considering how the pigment will settle into the skin. Each session builds on the last, without forcing a final result too soon.
As an example this project was split into three sessions and will eventually become a full sleeve. The first session focused on going over the concept and getting started, with about three hours of work. In the second session, we laid out the wings, which took around two hours while we decided whether a fully shaded look was the right direction.
By the third session, the vision was clear. We committed to a full look, and this was the result.
